I used to be able to squeeze in some exercise time in my daily routine, a brisk walk around the neighborhood, a window-shopping trip to the tyangge (flea market), even a quick trip to the minimart for a pint of ice cream (purpose defeated, LOL!).
That is, until the rains came, and then the pile of work, and then the kids’ homework, and then the comfort of the bed, and then (*insert more excuses here*).
Are you on the same boat?
Well, the good news is that it’s all in the mind. Maybe, we just need a fresher perspective on exercise to achieve that much-coveted work-life balance.
Here are a few tips and Taiwan Excellence’s sports and leisure products to help us get started.
Develop daily positive habits
Commuting consumes a large chunk of one’s daily life. Why not schedule a “bike day” going to work? Take the versatile Link B7 from Tern for a fun and different urban transport. It would cut commute time while simultaneously adding minutes to one’s daily workout. The Link B7 can make your travel more convenient as it folds compactly in 10 seconds and has adjustable handlepost to find the right height ride. I do wish that the streets of the metro can be friendlier to cyclists though. I do use this for commutes of very short distances.
Breathe
It’s difficult to navigate the high demands of one’s work, be it in the office or just at home with the kids. Work can get so challenging and may lead to anxiety and stress. Avoid this by finding an alone time to regroup one’s thoughts and reenergize for the next tasks. Reflecting, however, is not limited to finding a quiet room. Try clearing one’s mind using Johnson’s Adventure 5 treadmill. A good reflection over a productive work-out session can be a rewarding treat after a long day.

Try new leisure activities
It’s no fun being stuck in a routine of work-sleep-eat-work. Start simple and try to look for new leisure activities. People who prefer more outdoor activities can commit to swimming classes during the weekends. Before diving into this new activity, make sure to get the must-have items, such as sunblock, comfortable swimwear, and goggles like the waterproof Vision & Vision Jr. goggles that have quality optic lens and multi-colored frame.

Get Moving
Being static makes the body accumulate pent up energy. Let that energy loose by working out. With many available work-out equipment in the market, one can easily perform a do-it-yourself work-out at home. For instance, Ucheer offers compact and portable kinetic energy dumbbell that combines muscle training and body kinetic energy. Those interested in weightlifting can check Victory’s 5-kilogram bumper plate, which combines durable rubber and plastic in its design for a quality and convenient work-out. Products like these can help maintaining personal health, which should be the priority to the modern generation.

Take responsibility for your own decisions
You are responsible for your own self. So when it comes to making smart decisions, remember to be always guided. Like a trusted friend, Taiwan Excellence-accredited products aim to enhance the quality of living. Choosing from its variety of sport and leisure products can help in being a step closer to getting a work-life balance.

Those were cool products! I was actually saving for a treadmill.. i really wanted to hve one. I used to run before around our village but now i got too much on my plate that i cant go out to walk or run. Atleast if i have my own little gym at home i can squeeze in some exercise. Will check this brand when i visit the store! Thanks!
After reading your post, I totally get what you mean. There’s something interesting about your point of view, but I don’t tend to avoid working out! Tho, those products seem really cool to try and if it makes us active in our life, why the hell not! x

While reading your blog post, everything was seemed to be pointed to me. Those products are truly what everyone should have and try, aside from it gives us a fresh opportunity to experience something that is beneficial to ourselves, it also makes us active in our everyday life. Thank you for sharing about all these beneficial products!
Haha! I can totally relate with all the excuses avoid working out. I guess you’re right about taking responsibilities of our own decisions. We need to make time to take care of our well being and start burning those lurking calories out. Haha! I guess I need to start running again..too much idle moments for the past few months.
True! It’s already hard enough to maintain a regular exercise routine, and much harder when the rainy season comes! All you want to do is cuddle up in your blanket and sleep. These products are great suggestions, the weather shouldn’t be an excuse not to exercise. There are tons of things to do indoors that would help you break a good sweat! XD
Hey, that is the same as Hong Kong Design … something. It has been a long time since I have thought of Taiwanese products. This is certainly a step in the right direction, kasi diba their factories have moved to China so the way for them to go is to go with design. Pretty soon, these products will be manufactured by hundreds of others in China too, unfortunately.
Anyway, to the essence of the post, those are good picks. Anything that can help people pick up some exercise is good. I have learned to walk longer stretches at a time, in my case. For instance, instead of going from point A to B, I go by way of point C. While walking, there are still things I could do such as phone calls.

These products sure look like they are fit for the people who have few time for gym. these equipment will be small steos for the greater goals. I also love this because it promotes at-home exercise which I do often since going to the gym has more effort.
My dad bought so much of these kind of stuffs for my mom before. But she never got to used any and was just stuck at home piled with dust. I guess motivation is needed as well.

I am a fitness buff. Although I haven’t really thought of buying my own exercise equipment and stuff yet. I just might check this out and see if some can actually fit in my budget!
Your post reminded me to invest more time on physical exercise. hahaha Good thing that my kids are naturally active. They like to run around. They also like biking. That’s why we’re on the look out for a good bike for our son who is turning 5 next month.
I’m not into sports or exercise but it is good to know that even sports stuff is Taiwan Excellence-accredited. I thought gadgets lang ang meron accreditation.

We are starting to change our lifestyle. I like the treadmill and dumbbells. Agree, we should pay attention to our health and invest the right equipment to use. Will visit Taiwan Excellence website. ♥
I was just threadmill hunting yesterday and this post of yours comes in really timely.
New to workouts here. Been working out at home for about a month now and I don’t want to stop, it’s starting to burn my belly already. 😀 I don’t have any equipment, I hope one day I’ll be able to afford to buy one.

Oh I would love to get that bike for my children or maybe I should take the cue and use it myself to jump-start that long delayed fitness program.
Oooh I want to get a pair of the kinetic weights. Something I can use at home while bunny’s sleeping! I am trying to do an exercise routine but I think I need to add weights for resistance training.

I’m sure if my Papa sees that treadmill, he’d be bugging us to buy him one — to add up to his collection at home! Haha! Para kasing kino-collect lang nya sa sobrang minsan lang magamit yung workout equipments nya. Hay nako! Anyway, I have the biggest legit excuse right now not to be working-out and it’s because there’s a bun in the oven at the moment. But before I got married and headed on to motherhood, I do jog and short workouts at home kahit pa jumping jacks lang yan. Those were the days. Haha! Kailangan talaga ng commitment kaso mas committed ako ngayon sa pagiging nanay ko so siguro kapag nasa school na lang ang mga bagets then maybe I can go back to my old workout routines. Hehe
Argh! This only reminds me the need to workout. Lol. I am still saving for a treadmill..kahit manual lang to be used at home. I can’t find time to jog kasi, no yaya for my son. I didn’t know Taiwan is good with bike products. My partner was eyeing for the Japan made one. Buti na lang we didn’t buy one pa.

I want that bike for my son. Do you know how much it is?
This is like a wake up post for me haha! I’ve been feeling stagnant lately and have been motivating (but failing) myself to move and exercise. That treadmill is just perfect for me 🙂
Been blogging about Taiwan eXcelence too. 🙂 Nice project by the Taiwan gov’t. Sana gobyerno din natin gawin to.

Dibale, we’re getting there! Hopefully minus all the detractors!
Oh! That bike would be useful to us. My husband commutes to work but drops off at a certain point to walk all the way to the office, then plays basketball twice a week. We’ve been thinking of getting a folding bike for him to add to his exercise and lessen commuting expenses and time.

A lot of people have been resorting to folding bikes as they’re convenient to use and can easily be stored. 🙂
I like the treadmill. That’s probably one of the, if not the only, sports/exercise equipment I can stand! Haha!

Hehehe, it is pretty simple as you can just walk and no strenuous exercise to do. 🙂
My partner is a “health freak” and Im sure once he sees those cool and cute products, he’ll like it. We have a few fitness materials here and the only problem to me is how to squeeze in ample of time because of my work. Those are really cool.
Would want to buy a threadmill for myself and my mom. We tend to be so busy with things and responsibilities we cant anymore run or even brisk walk. Those are really cool and neat items.

I have a bike at home but I seldom use it. I prefer “walking” though.

I’d love to have a bicycle. And that one from Taiwan Excellence looks really nice. And foldable pa. Its been years since I ride one. Marunong pa naman siguro ako. Plus maganda din syang exercise.
The dumbbells look cool! 😀

I like that bike. Perhaps I should consider getting my husband one since he’s been wanting to bike to work for years. 🙂
Promising products. I’m hoping to have the threadmill too. But since we are in a tiny living, the space just doesn’t allow it in our home.
I like the bike.. So girly! I hope the products are worth the money when it comes sa tagal ng life and uses.
