When one of DA’s ninangs (godmother) got wind of his latest craze with Captain America (related post: DIY Captain America Costume), she gave him something that got the boy soooo excited. It’s actually a 3D Deco Light for the room but he didn’t care. Seeing the shield alone was enough to make him jump around and shout, “Open it! Open it! Open it!”
So open it I did. From out of the box came the shield, a quarter of which is gone, much to DA’s surprise, hahaha! There was also a piece of folded paper inside, which turned out to be a wall sticker.
Following the instructions, I peeled off the sticker backing…
and stuck it onto the wall. I then peeled off the front part to leave the black sticker in place.
This is how it looks like once I’ve peeled it off. Good heavens! There’s a big crack on the wall!
It comes with 2 screws (and tox/wall plugs) for you to screw it on the wall sticker (just follow the numbers on the sticker).
I’d have nasty issues with our landlady if she learns that I bore holes on the wall so I decided to just settle with sticking it. I got my trusty Blu-Tack and put as much as I could. Beneath all that Blu-Tack by the way, is the battery compartment. I loaded it up with 3 AAA batteries first before I went mad with the adhesive.
Here it is after sticking it onto the “cracked” wall. It has such a nice effect, right? Like the mighty Captain America really threw his shield onto our wall! Ouch!
Here’s how it looks like when I turned out the lights.
And of course, there’s our mighty Captain America with his shield on the cracked wall. He was so happy with it that he invited everyone in the house to go to our room to see it. But not before he donned his costume and mask, of course. 🙂
There are also many other designs to choose from (See Gallery here), ranging from superheroes to cars to Disney characters. These are not only cool for the kids but for adults as well (for me, at least)! It’s a great decor for our otherwise boring wall. It also acts as a perfect nightlight for us during bedtime. The blinds on our windows do not permit any of the moonlight in so I always find it hard to check on the kids (to make sure that one’s foot is not on the other’s face or to make sure that they are not cold). With this, I can easily see them and the light it emits is not so bright that you cannot sleep with it on. And since it’s a superhero design, it gives the kids a lot of assurance that there really is nothing to be scared of when the main lights go out. 🙂
If you want one for your wall or to give as a gift, you can inquire about it here.
