Curious and hungry, we decided to go inside and see for ourselves. Once inside, you could almost hear the waves crashing and the trees swaying. Waiters in casual beach attires roamed the area, taking and serving orders.
From the menu, we learned that the big block of banana leaves that we saw earlier contained what they call the Boodle Feast. They have seven types to choose from, each with its own specialty. They have feasts for groups of 3-4 and 5-6. They also have ala carte items in the menu but this seems to be their specialty.
Even if there were only 2 and a half of us, we didn’t pass up the chance to order a Boodle Feast. We tried Dagupan’s Pride, complete with fish, pork, shrimp, and vegetables. We were able to finish most of it save for the rice, which was really good for 4. It makes me wonder if there’d be enough viand to go around if there really were 4 of us or maybe we were just really hungry!
I’d love to come back again and try the other feasts, with more people next time. It reminds me of going to the beach, dining off of banana leaves, bonding with friends and family over good food and good stories. =)
