Will You Still Try for a Baby Girl?

Will You Still Try for a Baby Girl

Being a mom of two boys, I have always been asked, “Will you still try for a baby girl?”

While some may find the question offensive, I don’t mind it at all. As a matter of fact, I ask the same to friends who are on the same boat. The answer always comes in the form of “We’re still thinking about it.”

There are indeed a lot of things to consider before having another baby bump after a long hiatus.

  1. Yaya problems. Who doesn’t have one, right? I would certainly need another pair of hands should another baby come along. Oh, that means more yaya problems to come. Oh, woe is me!
  2. Sleepless Nights. I’m in that happy place right now where I can get ample beauty sleep in a day. Why ruin it, right?
  3. Diapers, Bottles, and Breastfeeding. Those were my worries in the past. I’d like to think that I’ve graduated from them already, passed with flying colors even. Hmm, now to redo it all again? Plus, I’ve already sold my one year supply of Huggies diapers!
  4. Transformed Crib. Oh, did I mention that I’ve already converted our baby crib into a functional study table? Well, it is reversible, but still…
  5. Baby Bump, Baby, and Preschool. Now that the boys are in school and I am the one who goes with them everyday, I have to think about how a baby bump and a future baby will fit into the picture.

If you must know, these are but the tip of the iceberg. There are so much more worries to share and so much more concerns to tackle.

I haven’t even gotten started with the expenses, the vaccines, the schooling, the…

Sometimes though, realization just hits and it hits you hard, throwing all of those reasons out the window.

What’s a little more sacrifice for the family that you’ve always wanted?

All of a sudden, you’re ready for one last hurrah, ready to add more laughter to your already noisy household, ready to share yourself to yet another being, ready to love with all of you and ready to fall in love all over again.

P.S. It doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl. 🙂

  1. I am a mother to two daughters and people (and I myself) are asking almost the same question! Hahabol ka pa ba ng boy?! Hahaha! And though there are many things to consider, we might still try our luck next year! Hopefully, we can finally be blessed with a boy, in God’s will. 🙂 best of luck satin! 🙂

  2. I have 1 daughter and 2 boys, they was born prematurely. It was kind of hard to answers questions from all the people concerned and yet we are here coping. Agree, whether if it’s a boy or girl, he/she will always be a blessing to your lovely family. 🙂

  3. I guess this is one of the frequent questions for moms like us. My daughter is an only child so you can just imagine how many times I’ve been asked when is the next kid coming. 🙂

  4. Adding another baby was a topic my husband and I were talking about the other night. Yeah, there were a lot of concens to think about. But if ever we’re blessed with another one, we’ll be so happy, boy or girl or twins! Haha! Good luck!

  5. I have 4 kids. Friends would always say “dagdagan pa”. Personally, I would love to have many kids, only if I was a millionaire and be able to support schooling and the extra needs. Ang saya nga pag marami kang anak kasi they will all eventually grow up and leave your house and only few will be left(hopefully). I’m an only child and I always recommend having kids more than one provided that you are capable of providing.

  6. Ah, that inevitable question! I only have one so far who’s turning 2.5 and people already ask me when we’re adding another one. I love your list of things to consider. Can relate sa #yayaproblems, but I found your “transformed crib” reason the best! Haha!

  7. My son is 2.3 years old and people start asking me when ang kasunod. Ang sarap ng may anak but ang hirap when you are in a long distance with your partner. Of course I want a daughter too pero in God’s time. Just in God’s time.

  8. I already have 3 boys. On my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy, I prayed for a girl. After the 3rd baby, I just pray I won’t get pregnant again. Haven’t slept well in years now! I’m so looking forward to weaning my 3rd child!

  9. I think your reasons are valid. We don’t have a girl either, although we never really longed for one the way others do. We really prayed for boys. Our reason why we are no longer thinking of trying for more kids is because of the same reasons you have + our age. I don’t want to be too old when my kids are teenagers.

  10. I have a toddler now who’s a boy and I would want another baby girl but not too soon, though. I had a hard time giving birth last May 2015 (who doesn’t, really?! Haha!) and the thought of doing it over again scares me so much. And we wanted to make sure that it’s a baby girl the next time I will get pregnant so my husband and I will make sure my pregnancy will be planned. Lol. Mommy, do try cloth nappying. It can be stinky and eew-y but it will save you and your husband a lot of money. Been breastfeeding and cloth nappying my son for more than a year now. Best decision I’ve made so far. We invest the money na lang in MF and insurance to what could’ve been formula milk and disposable diaper expenses. Yey! 😀

  11. I have three boys na and sobra saya ko to have them. Sobra sweet and loving ng mga boys pero sobra pinagpray ko talaga na sana magkaroon pa din ako baby girl. In God’s time and will and kung talaga meant to be magkaroon din tayo nyan baby girl. Do you believe din pala in Chinese gender calendar? or yung kasabihan na pag bunso mo daw may hiwa sa nipples nya baby girl na kasunod?

  12. Ay ako gusto ko pa talagang magkaroon ng boy pero ayaw na ni hubby. He likes to focus nalang talaga sa girls namin. Kung pwede lang lasingin hehe, but as years passed by, I understood him naman.

  13. I have four boys and sometimes, i would ask myself, what if i have a baby girl? Or should i consider giving birth and wish for a girl. I guess Ive had enough. But who knows? God may be that generous to bless us with a baby girl in a few years from now.

  14. I’m a mom of 2 boys and well ANOTHER boy is due this month so baby makes 3. My oldest is already 9 so he’s a big help nadin most of the time. However yun 2nd one ko is only 2years and 3 months and may pagka mommy’s boy so hindi ko pa alam kung paano sha mag aadjust pag labas netong bunso. We we’re hoping na Girl na this time pero wala eh, boy talaga ang binibigay saamin hehe. For diapers I’m using cloth (and selling them too!), medyo late na nga ang pag umpisa ko ng cloth diapering sa pangalawa ko kase he needs to potty train nadin soon pero buti nalang may kasunod so hindi din masasayang un Diaper stash ko. I also plan to breastfeed longer this time, it just didn’t go too well with my 1st and 2nd. I have nothing bad to say about formula milk as I’ve used it myself pero this 3rd time around I’m really planning to be practical kaya I’m really gonna try and make the Cloth Diapering/Breastfeeding thing work! Last baby ko nadin naman kasi pangatlong CS na hehe.
anyways sorry ang daldal ko. natuwa lang ako kasi bihira ako maka hanap ng mommy blog tapos Pinay pa. Wish you all the best dito the blog mo ang ganda! More Power:)

  15. Adding another baby to the family may seem like a big sacrifice but as they say, a child is always a blessing. So if your heart is set on having another baby, I say go for it! ?
