The summer heat has been really unforgiving these days. It’s too hot to stay outside, it’s too sticky and sweaty to stay indoors.
The kids have already been stripped down to their sandos and briefs to feel cooler. While this worked for the elder one, my youngest who has eczema complains of being itchy all the time. The worst part of it is when I checked the areas where he complains of itch, the skin was so rough and so dry. I’ve already tried all his previous lotions before and nothing seemed to work. I was getting frustrated already when these came through the doorstep.
Vaseline, of course! Why didn’t I think of that? Oops, I meant Petroleum Jelly. I just always associate the former with the latter. 😛 Anyway, this wonder jelly is touted to heal burns, rashes, chapped skin, cuts, bruises, and more.
Maybe, that’s just what I need for my son’s skin! After all, if it can keep keep a leaf vibrant even under the heat of the sun, it must be able to help with dry and chapped skin, right?
By the way, to illustrate the healing power of Vaseline, they put up a live billboard along C5 last April 8-10. Here’s a video of it:
I wanted to try it out for myself. I got 2 leaves, brushed one with Vaseline and left the other alone. I put it under the heat of the sun for 3 hours and this was the result.
Okay, I’m sold. I find the petroleum jelly too greasy for the summer though. I needed a lighter, non greasy counterpart. Well, fortunately for me, Vaseline has answered my need. They’ve put micro droplets of this magic jelly into their new line of lotions! Yey! With this, the magic works deep from within the epidermis to bring back lost moisture and heal dry skin.
I immediately tried it on my son’s skin. Generously too. I used the yellow one because it said Heal Dry Skin, which is just what DS needed.
I am so happy and actually amazed to report that the skin now feels softer and smoother. No kidding! He still complains of being itchy though but at least the skin feels so much smoother. For a while there, I was actually worried that it would be dry and rough forever! Whew!
Just so you know, this is the SRP of it in the market.
- 100ml- P69.30
- 200ml- P126
- 400ml- P225
Do you have dry skin too? You can take the Dry Skin Test to find out.
I like the leaf experiment. And when i read or hear moms say nice reviews on products, i usually try them myself. I know moms only want the best for their kids.
Ako din! I also try it when I learn it from other moms! hehe
Wonder Jelly on lotions? Why not? I usually used petroleum jelly on my sensitive skin especially if I am using fancy jewelries, it actually helps.
Petroleum Jelly is my lip saver! I put it on every night so that when I wake up in the morning I’ll have soft lips lol! But I do! I also use it as my eye and lip makeup remover when I ran out of the oil I use as my makeup remover. Hehe! And yes, it works! And oh, I also use it on my ‘siko’ and knees when they’re feeling extra dry. Lol I just realized petroleum jelly has a lot of uses! I would like to try their new formulated lotions, too! 😉
Such a great product! I use it in my heels to remove the cracks.? Would you believe that my 7 year old boy would put petroleum jelly in his feet every night and wear socks after? He said it will make his feet soft. Lol. It’s true. It does make his feet smooth. I’m excited to try their lotion especially that they infused it with the jelly mix.?
i just got mine in the mail too, can’t wait to try it out! galing the leaf theory
This is indeed a great product and I have seen many blogger who have received this sample.
I love Vaseline especially now that they’ve used the jelly on their lotions too. 🙂 Super great for my dry skin!
I love Vaseline for this is the only lotion and petroleum jelly that I am hiyang hehe. Good thing Vaseline’s lotions are now infused with drops of petroleum jelly.
Unique campaign! I’ve never used Vaseline but I have dry skin and I want to be as moisturised as that leaf LOL!
I’ve been using Vaseline and I know it works wonders but I’m curious about that dry leaf. I’m making a mental note now to do the “leaf” test first thing tomorrow morning 😀
Hehe, I had to do it myself too to see for myself. 🙂
I use their Healthy White lotion and love it. It does whiten and moisturize.
If Vaseline lotion can do that to a leaf, then what more on our skin. I want to try it, too.
My brother gets rashes because of the heat. He uses petroleum jelly rin, but I find it too oily for my own use. Good thing they have this in lotion form. I’ll try this out soon. 🙂
I love the leaf experiment. 🙂 I would consider vaseline na now. We’re mustela users for Baby Charley. 🙂
I have some dryness problems at certain areas. Vaseline is a reliable brand. Maybe I’ll get myself the deep restoration one and see if it would work on my problem areas.
Totoo it worked on the leaves? Amazingggggg!! You go vaseline! I may just get one today!
Great prouduct. We use Vaseline products in winters, but wern’t aware of any for the summers. Thanks for the info.
