I’m backkkkk!
Whew! I’ve been super busy lately coming from our last overseas trip back to back with the opening of classes the very next day. I have a half day off tomorrow so I’d best make the most out of it and keep you guys entertained with some photos and stories from our trip. π
I did not have anything planned for our Hong Kong trip as it was soooo last minute so I decided to just get a 2-day Disneyland ticket for me and DA. Besides, I was sure that DA would want to visit the happiest place on earth more than once, right?
Boy, was I wrong!
After the first trip, he didn’t want to go back anymore. Waaa! The harsh summer heat must have really gotten to him.
We went there on a Monday so I decided to put off going back again until our last free day there. I would soon find out it was the right choice as the coolest part of the park (literally!), the Frozen Village (Let it gooo, let it goooo!), had just opened its doors to the public the day before! Talk about great timing!
Animation Academy
Since we were already in Main Street, USA, we decided to drop by Animation Academy first as I haven’t ever seen what’s inside and the class was just about to start.
It was basically a classroom style setup where each of us sat on a desk with a blank paper and a pencil. The session was mostly in Cantonese (though the instructor sometimes spoke in English) but since it’s just all about learning how to draw, the language didn’t quite matter. For our session, we got to learn how to draw Sorcerer Mickey.
How’s my drawing? π
Frozen Village
We then headed straight to Frozen Village, located in between Adventureland and Grizzly Gulch. We got there at around 1:30PM and there was a sign that they were not giving out reservation passes (like a FastPass) anymore. We had to wait in line for the next show, which is at 2:30PM. OMG, an hour’s wait under the scorching sun (and occasional rainshowers)! We decided to go for it anyway.
I wasn’t able to take a photo of the outside as I was so busy preoccupying the toddler during the long wait. π
Anyway, when we finally got inside, this was the scene that greeted us.
Frozen Festival Show
The line eventually led us to the Crown Jewel Theater where we took our seats to watch the show.
It was basically a sing-along show where the song parts of the movie were shown with lyrics. The songs included Do You Want to Build a Snowman?, In Summer, and Love is an Open Door.
The songs For the First Time in Forever and Let it Go were done live by Anna and Elsa respectively, much to everyone’s delight! π There was a little girl at our back who was really singing her lungs out with them! She must really love it! Oops, I forgot about Kristoff, he also sang the Reindeers are Better than People live. π
Olaf’s Ice Slide
After the show, we immediately went out of the theater to fall in line on Olaf’s Ice Slide.
That’s this cool looking slide here, where we can ride on a toboggan for a thrilling downhill ice slide.
Whopppeee! Kids below 3 are not allowed to ride. Kids ages 3 to 5 must be accompanied with an adult when riding.
That’s us with our sled. It was such a fun ride! We’d have done it again had there been no time limit inside the village. Sadly though there is, for them to be able to accommodate all the others who want to enter as well.
Frozen Festival Square
Beside the Ice Slide is this play area where Sven the reindeer was stationed. It’s where you can play with snow and make your own snowman. We didn’t get to go inside though as the time was up and they closed off the section already. Huhuhu. DA literally cried over not being able to play with the snow.
There was also a gift shop and a snack bar inside, aptly called Oaken’s Trading Post. π
I sure was glad to be able to catch this attraction during our short Hong Kong stint.
Should you ever find yourself in Hong Kong this summer (their summer), be sure to drop by this new attraction! It’s the perfect place for all Frozen fans young and old. π
It’s open from June 11 to August 30, 2015.
Wow! HK Disney. Soon kami ni Skye naman. Hihihi! Pero tska na if she’s bigger na. π
Oo, masaya yun! π
It has been like 3years ago, since we last visited HKDL, i see there are new attractions, looks so much fun being part of Frozen Village. I want to come back, but my boys are really not into Frozen (i guess you know what I mean).
It’s a good thing my little tot is still into it. Hindi pa yung “it’s for girls!” stage hehe.
OMG! I love the Frozen Village, mukhang napaka exciting pumunta jan. I hope we could visit HK Disneyland someday too.
At least malapit lang naman HK and no visa requirement. Easier to go to talaga π
It really takes effort to enjoy but it’s worth it as long as the kids are happy.
Another reason to go back to Hong Kong! Di naman ito naabutan when we went last May huhu

Yey! I’m sure your little princess would love it since she enjoyed being part of the parade last time you were there. π
We might be visiting next year May we will not miss that.
Yey! π
My eldest daughter is sitting on my lap as I go through this post. She said, “Look Mommy, it’s Frozen!” I think I have to schedule that HK trip anytime soon :))
Hahaha! π it’s really great for little princesses. π
wow, looks like my son would enjoy visiting there too!
OMG, I would love to visit the Frozen attraction! The pictures look amazing.
It’s really worth checking out. Thanks, Amanda! π
